Nawaz Sharif shifted to Services Hospital for medical tests

LAHORE (92 News) – All arrangements have been finalized to shift former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who is serving jail term in the Al-Azizia reference, to Services Hospital for medical tests. The Punjab Home Department has issued orders in this regard. A VVIP room containing two beds, a refrigerator and LCD has been prepared for Nawaz Sharif. Tables and sofas have also been arranged for visitors. The decision to shift Nawaz Sharif to hospital has been made on the proposal of the medical board. Security personnel in civvies have been deployed in the hospital. According to the report, the blood flow to the lower part of his heart is reducing. Nawaz Sharif will remain in hospital till the completion of his tests. On the other hand, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has postponed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s plea for bail on medical grounds in the Al-Azizia reference till February 6. The court issued notices to respondents and sought the reply by next week. It also ordered Nawaz Sharif to present the original medical reports. A two-member bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the plea. Nawaz Sharif’s counsel Khawaja Haris told court that the Sharif family is concerned about his health. Justice Amir Farooq questioned whether Nawaz Sharif is not getting health facilities. “Has a new medical board to be constituted?” he questioned. Khawaja Haris said that medical test reports had not been given to them and court should summon the reports. A team comprising of cardiologists had examined Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat jail. Earlier, samples of different medical tests were sent to Jinnah Hospital. Later, Nawaz Sharif was examined at PIC and three tests were conducted on him. In the ECO report, the size of Nawaz Sharif’s heart was found bigger than usual. Heart muscles were also found thick.
