Nawaz Sharif, Parvez Khattak declare Chitral's flood-hit areas as calamity-hit

CHITRAL (92 News) - After the devastating floods caused havoc in the northern city of Chitral, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday visited Chitral along with provincial Chief Minister Parvez Khattak. The PM took an aerial view of the flood affected areas, before being briefed about the damages caused by rains and floods in the area. The prime minister has waived all agricultural loans in the flood-hit areas of Chitral. He ordered to open more utility stores for continuous supply of food to the masses in the affected areas. He announced a grant of Rs 500 million for the flood-hit people. He said that the provincial government would also give the same amount. The prime minister also declared the area as calamity-hit. Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Pervez Khattak received the Prime Minister on arrival. He was also apprised of the rescue and relief activities carried out in the flood affected areas.
