Nawaz Sharif's passport will not be renewed: Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed clearly stated that the passport of former premier Nawaz Sharif will not be renewed but if Nawaz Sharif desires to return home, he will be issued the emergency travel documents within 72 hours.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, the interior minister said that the passport of Nawaz Sharif is expiring tonight. He also reminded that the names of both Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have been on the ECL since August 2018.

Sheikh Rasheed said that the passports cannot be issued to those on the ECL. "Nawaz Sharif is not being stopped from returning back to Pakistan. "If Nawaz Sharif desires so, he will be issued the emergency travel documents," he added.

PTI to emerge victorious in Senate elections

The minister has expressed the confidence that PTI will emerge victorious in the upcoming Senate elections to be held on the third of next month. He also there will be political stability and reduction in rumour mongering in the wake of Senate polls.
