Nawaz Sharif shifted to Jinnah Hospital from Kot Lakhpat jail amid tight security

LAHORE (92 News) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who is serving jail in the Al-Azizia reference, was shifted to Jinnah Hospital from Kot Lakhpat jail on Friday. Sources said that the decision to shift Nawaz Sharif to Jinnah Hospital was made on emergency basis due to his deteriorating condition. They said that Nawaz Sharif would be kept in private room No 5. Stringent security arrangements had been made to shift Nawaz Sharif to hospital. Prior being shifted to hospital, doctors examined him in jail. On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif has expressed his dissatisfaction over the arrangements made for him in Jinnah Hospital. Professor Arif Tajamal said that a board had been formed for the treatment of Nawaz Sharif. The facilities of all tests, including angiography, are available in Jinnah Hospital. Earlier on Thursday, the Home Ministry had directed to the jail authorities for shifting incarcerated prime minister Nawaz Sharif from Kot Lakhpat jail to Jinnah Hospital. The notification was issued to transfer the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif from prison to Jinnah Hospital for treatment. In the notification, it was stated that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was given permission to make the transfer upon the advice of Services Hospital and Special Medical Board.
