ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in hot water once again when his personal guard attacked on a cameraman of private TV channel outside the Parliament House on Monday. According to the reports, Nawaz Sharif’s guard attacked with punch and kicks on the cameraman because he was making footage of Nawaz Sharif. The cameraman, identified as Wajid Ali, was attacked by the guard when Nawaz Sharif was leaving the Parliament House after attending the parliamentary party meeting with senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N). However, the guards hit private channel’s cameraman mercilessly. The cameraman was left unconscious after the attack, while the PML-N Quaid left the National Assembly without giving attention to the incident. The other journalists took the guard into custody but police interfered in the matter and released the guard from the media representatives. The cameraman was injured and shifted to the hospital. Meanwhile, the guard, identified as Mansab Ali, arrested by the police and shifted to the Police Station Secretariat. The first information report (FIR) was lodged against the guard as per injuring with weapon sections. While the other guard who fled to the scene was also named in the FIR and may be arrested soon. On the other hand, the journalists started protest on the matter of attack. The media representative continued the protest over incident. – Shehryar Afridi seeks report from IG Islamabad on matter – State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi took the notice of matter and sought a complete report from the inspector general of police Islamabad. He strongly condemned the torture on cameraman and expressed sympathy with the injured cameraman. – Speaker bans for entering of private guards in the NA premises – Taking immediate action into the matter of torture over media workers, outside the Parliament house by Nawaz’s guard, NA Speaker Asad Qaiser has ordered to lodge case against the guard involved in the manhandling. Ordering to lodge First Information Report (FIR) into the incident, the speaker national assembly slapped a ban over entering of private guards in the National assembly premises. “No one will be allowed to enter into the house’s premises along with their private security guards,” said speaker NA in his ruling. Commenting on the incident, Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has also condemned violence on private TV cameramen by the guard of Nawaz Sharif outside Parliament House in the federal capital. He said Nawaz Sharif did not bother to stop even after the cameraman was injured. “Rule of PML-N has ended, but the party leaders are still behaving like Mughals,” the minister continued. “Mian Saheb don’t take more imprecations of the poor, he advised to the former prime minister. Responding to the incident matter, Minister for Railway Sheikh Rasheed said that Mian Saheb did not try to stop even the cameraman being severely injured. He also called to register a case against the guard. – Shehbaz assures full cooperation in investigation – On the issue of thrashing the cameraman of a private TV channel by a security guard of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif outside parliament today, the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly condemned the incident and assured full cooperation of his party in the investigation.
