Nawaz says humiliation in name of medical treatment unacceptable
LAHORE (92 News) – Incarcerated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday termed that he would not accept the humiliation in the name of medical treatment.
According to the details garnered, Nawaz Sharif has prepared his response to Punjab government’s letter. The letter will be sent to the government within two or three days. It stated that Nawaz Sharif said he has complete trust in courts and will take care of own treatment if relief is given.
The sources also said that in the letter, the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) quid has stated that he is being moved to hospitals like a refugee. “The humiliation in name of the treatment will not be acceptable,” he wrote.
Earlier today, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khosa has ordered to fix the bail plea of Nawaz Sharif for hearing next week.
The orders were passed on Nawaz Sharif’s application for early hearing of his bail plea. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court will hear the plea.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nawaz Sharif earlier refused to go to hospital for treatment despite requests by his family members after Prime Minister Imran Khan directed Punjab government to provide best medical treatment to the PMLN quid.
Nawaz refuses to go to hospital as Maryam demands ‘life-saving unit’
On March 8, Maryam Nawaz, daughter of incarcerated prime minister, demanded ‘life saving unit’ in jail as her father continues to refuse to be shifted to a hospital to receive treatment for his worsening cardiac health.
Maryam took her twitter and said according to cardiologists sent by the government to examine Sharif on Thursday, the former premier’s heart disease has worsened. In these circumstances, she requested the Jail authorities to establish an immediate life saving unit on the Jail premises.
“Just met MNS. Since he hasn’t agreed to be shifted to the hospital & his heart disease has worsened (according to cardiologists sent by the govt to examine him y’day), I request the Jail authorities to establish an immediate resuscitation and life saving unit on Jail premises,” Maryam tweeted.
