Nawaz used party accounts for money laundering: Farrukh Habib

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Mian Farrukh Habib on Monday claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) quid and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif used its party accounts for money laundering. Addressing a press conference, Farrukh Habib expressed his concerns about the PML-N and PPP’s foreign funding. He said that PML-N’s leadership kept their accounts as secret and their bank accounts were allegedly used to launder money. The parliamentary secretary also mentioned that the foreign funding cases against PML-N and PPP are under-hearing and they have to submit their money trails. He maintained that the lawyers of both parties are not appearing in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for further proceedings in the cases against them. He also demanded that both the parties should be trialed under the same terms of references (ToRs) which the PTI facing in foreign funding cases. Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s core committee has decided to effectively counter the fake propaganda against the ruling party over foreign funding case in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan chaired the meeting of the committee which discussed various issues and took important decisions. While briefing media about the decisions, Special Assistant of Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said PTI’s legal team has been asked to effectively present party’s point of view in the ECP and the media to end disinformation and fake news. She said the ECP should conduct audit of all political forces instead of targeting a particular party.
