Nawaz's arrest warrant received by his son in London, federal govt tells IHC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government on Tuesday has submitted a report on the implementation of arrest warrant of PML-N quid Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad High Court (IHC) in Al-Azizia and Avenfield references. During the hearing, the federation counsel told that Nawaz Sharif's warrant was received by his son Hassan Nawaz at his residence in London. The warrant was dispatched to Nawaz’s house by Pakistani High Commission in UK through a mail, he informed. Earlier on Sep 15, the IHC directed concerned authorities to arrest and produce former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in in Al-Azizia and Avenfield cases. During the hearing, the IHC has rejected the exemption plea of Nawaz Sharif and released his non-bailable arrest warrants in Al-Azizia and Avenfield cases. The pleas of Nawaz Sharif for seeking his exemption from personal appearance in the corruption references have been rejected by the high court. The IHC directed concerned authorities to arrest and produce Sharif in the hearings of the corruption cases. In its verdict, the court stated that Nawaz Sharif does not deserve bail and relief anymore. Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif’s appeal for attending the hearings through representative was also rejected.
