NCOC decides to keep educational institutions opened, shrines & parks with 50% capacity

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) session, chaired by Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, co-chaired by National Coordinator Major Gen Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, was held on Wednesday.

The forum took a detailed review of current disease situation in the country and corresponding NPIs. After a deliberate and consultative process with federating units, the forum agreed on implementation of under-mentioned NPIs/decisions. These decisions will be implemented from January 20-31, 2022 with review on January 27, 2022 at NCOC. However, NPIs for the wedding sector will remain effective till February 15, 2022.

As per decisions, the educational institutions will remain open. Under 12 years students will attend schools with 50% attendance (staggered days), while above 12 years will attend schools with 100% attendance (fully vaccinated).

Parks and shrines will remain open with 50% capacity in cities having more than 10 percent positivity rate, while the cities having up to 10 percent positivity rate will have different SOPs. Ceremonies have been completely banned from January 20 to 31.

Indoor weddings in cities having 10 percent positivity rates have completely banned, while indoor weddings in cities less than 10 percent will be allowed with 300 guests (fully vaccinated). Outdoor weddings in cities having 10 percent positivity rates will be allowed with 300 guests (fully vaccinated), while indoor weddings in cities having less than 10 percent positivity rate will be allowed with 500 guests (fully vaccinated).
