NCOC expresses concern over non-compliance of COVID SOPs

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has decided to take all possible steps to ensure implementation of COVID SOPs along with pursuing the mass vaccination campaign.

The decision was taken at NCOC meeting held on Thursday with Planning Minister Asad Umar in the chair.

All the federating units have also been directed to check the growing trend of non-implementation of SOPs to contain spread of disease in the country.

The forum expressed concern over non-compliance of SOPs.

On the other hand, Pakistan has officially begun administering the coronavirus vaccine to everyone aged 18 and above.

The country had faced vaccination hesitancy and shortage of supply but it has now secured above 18 million doses, including donations and purchases from China and allocations from the World Health Organisation.

Registration for all adults opened on May 26. People can register by sending their CNIC number to 1166.

On the other hand, as many as 92 more people died during the third wave of coronavirus across the country during the last 24 hours.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Thursday, overall death toll has reached 21,022. Moreover, 2,028 cases were reported across the country.

During the past 24 hours, 51,523 tests were conducted while the positive cases rate remained at 3.93 percent.

The province-wise cases are: Sindh (320,488), KPK (133,450), Punjab (340,989), Islamabad (81,446), Balochistan (25,370) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (19,344) and Gilgit Baltistan (5,608).
