We need to go beyond edicts: Nawaz

LAHORE (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Saturday said that Islam teaches unity, harmony and brotherhood and there is a dire need for adopting these principles for prosperous Islamic world. Addressing a seminar at Jamia Naeemia in Lahore on Saturday, he said that every Pakistani needs peace. “We need to go beyond fatwas “religious edict”,” he added. The prime minister also called upon religious scholars to contribute towards peace and prosperity of Pakistan by playing a role in eliminating extremism and terrorism and by promoting tolerance and inter-faith harmony.
