SC adjourns contempt of court case against Nehal Hashmi until Aug 21

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Monday adjourned the contempt of court proceedings against former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nehal Hashmi after a brief hearing on Monday. A three member bench of the Supreme Court headed Justice Ijaz Afzal resumed hearing of the contempt of court case against former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nehal Hashmi. During the proceedings, the court expressed anger for providing incomplete transcript of the former PML-N leader’s speech and CD. Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh remarked that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Director General would go directly to the Adiala Jail if TV channel’s speech was found somewhat more. PEMRA DG Haji Adam said that the CD containing the same speech has been presented in the court regarding whatever ran on television channels and he would be responsible for the incomplete CD. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till August 21.
