Nehal Hashmi Speech: SC issues contempt of court notice

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Thursday issued a contempt of court notice to ex-Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) senator Nehal Hashmi.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court heard the suo moto case of Nehal Hashmi’s threatening speech.

During the proceeding, Justice Ejaz Afzal remarked that the dignity of the courts will be maintained at all costs. “We don’t care what will be the end result,” Justice Ejaz Afzal said.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed remarked that not even the enemy threatens children, adding that only terrorists issue threats to children.

He remarked that everyone including ministers and spokesmen are running campaign against court and Joint Investigation team.

The court adjourned the hearing until June 5.
