Nehal Hashmi’s heart is normal, say doctors

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A medical team from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital examined Nehal Hashmi and declared his heart as normal. They also recommended that the jail staff be polite towards him. Earlier, the PIMS Hospital team visited the Adiala Jail hospital and examined former senator Nehal Hashmi. PIMS cardiologist Akhtar Ali Bandaisha examined him. The team remained at the jail hospital for about 30 minutes. The team concluded that Nihal Hashmi's heart is working normally. However, he was found to be suffering from flue, fever and mental stress. Nehal Hashmi had received three cardiac stents about three months ago. The medical team recommended that the jail staff keep that in mind and treat him politely. The team warned that torture could be dangerous, but did not prescribe a shift to hospital.
