NEPRA approves an increase of Rs1.25 per unit in power tariffs

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday approved an increase of Rs1.25 per unit in the power tariffs.

Owing to the increase, an extra amount of Rs46 billion will be received from the consumers. The increase will be made under the head of adjustment for March and will be applicable from June to September.

The increase will be applicable after the notification of the federal government. Presently the NEPRA is receiving extra 47 paisas from the consumers that will be received until June.

On the other hand, the NEPRA rejected the federal government's plea for increasing the power rates for K-Electric.
