NEPRA approves an increase of Rs7.91 per unit in power rate

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the power rate by Rs7.91 per unit.

The new rate will be applied after the issuance of the notification by the federal government. The increase has been made in the basic tariff, which has increased to Rs24.82 per unit.

According to the NEPRA, the power distribution companies had sought an increase under the head of Multi Year tariff. The depreciation of the rupee and increase in the fuel price are the basic reasons behind the hike in the tariff.
