NEPRA approves Rs 1.95 per unit increase in power tariff

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of Rs 1.95 per unit on account of the monthly Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for August.

According to a notification issued on Friday, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CCPA-G) had requested the NEPRA to raise the power rate by Rs 2.07 per unit.

On September 30, the NEPRA had held a public hearing on the FCA. The increase will be applicable on the electricity bills of October. However, the increase will not be applicable on the life line consumers.

The increase will incur an extra burden of Rs 30 billion on the consumers.
