NEPRA increases power tariff by Rs 1.72 per unit for a year

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the power tariff by Rs 1.72 per unit for a year.

According to a notification issued by the NEPRA, the increase has been made under quarterly adjustment for 2019-21.

After the increase, the per unit price of electricity has been raised from Rs 16.44 to Rs 18.16. The consumers will have to bear an extra burden of Rs 90 billion.

The decision will be applicable to the consumers using 300 units. However, the K-Electric consumers have been exempted from the increase.
