NEPRA likely to reduce Power tariff

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The power tariff is likely to witness a decline of Rs1.97 per unit as a result of fuel adjustment for the month of November.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will hold a hearing on December 29 on the petition of Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA).

According to the proposal sent to NEPRA by the CPPA, the cost production of electricity through High Speed Diesel was Rs 12.48 in November and the cost production of electricity through Furnace Oil was Rs 07.43 per unit.

The cost production of electricity through Gas was Rs 05.75, while the cost production of nuclear electricity was Rs 01.12 and the cost of imported electricity Iran was Rs 10.50 in November.

The CPPA proposed that the consumers should be given relief of the cost of production.
