NEPRA okays Rs 4.42 per unit cut in power tariff

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday approved a cut in power tariff by Rs4.42 per unit. A hearing into the power tariffs was held in the NEPRA. The consumers will get a relief of Rs Rs25 billion next month. The Central Power Purchasing Agency stated that 5.76 billion units of electricity were produced in February, which cost Rs 26 billion. The production cost has reduced by Rs 4.42 per unit due to a cut in the prices of furnace oil and an increase in the hydel power. The reduction will be implemented next month.
