New Karachi-Peshawar train “Rehman baba Express” inaugurated

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Sunday inaugurated a new passenger train as “Rehman Baba Express” at a ceremony in the Peshawar railway station. According to the reports, the new train service was launched to provide safer and better transport facilities to commuters travelling between Karachi and Peshawar. The route of newly launched Rehman Baba Express is different from the Khyber Mail and Awami Express. However, Rehman baba Express is third train service after the Khyber Mail and Awami Express. While Sheikh Rasheed attended the inauguration ceremony in Peshawar, he was seemed angry on the decisions of his own government. Speaking on the occasion, the railways minister that the people did not vote for making ‘thieves’ (corrupt people) to Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman. “If corruption is not eliminated even now, the country won’t move forward. The people stand by Prime Minister Imran Khan for real change,” he asserted. He added that the people voted for Imran Khan to hold corrupt people to account. During inauguration of the more than 1000 passengers cheap train service, the commuters will now reach from Peshawar to Karachi within 26 hours. He vowed to launch as many as 20 new trains in a year and provide cheaper transport facilities to the poor. The minister also said the real goal is to increase the number of freight trains in the country. He announced to launch a container train on January 25 next year. He said he had issued directives for removal of all encroachments from railway lands.
