New oil, gas reserves discovered in North Waziristan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) The Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) has revealed the discovery of new oil and gas reserves at the Spinwam-1 well in North Waziristan's Karghar Formation.
The well is currently producing 20.48 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMCFD) and 117 barrels of crude oil daily, marking a second successful find at this location.
This discovery is expected to help address the growing gap between energy demand and supply in Pakistan, contributing significantly to the country’s energy needs.
Mari Petroleum's latest find follows the company’s previous success in Sindh, where it discovered additional gas reserves earlier in 2024.
The newly discovered reserves are anticipated to further bolster Pakistan’s domestic energy production.
