New polio cases surface in Balochistan, KP

QUETTA (92 News) – The new cases of poliovirus have been surfaced in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday. According to the reports, one case of polio virus has been detected in a 2-year-old child in Balochistan’s region of Zhob while other detected in 3-years-old girl in Tehsil Jandola of KP. The children, who were diagnosed with the poliovirus, had not been exposed to polio vaccination and the parents had never bothered with the process. It is pertinent to mention here that five cases of positive polio cases have been reported in Balochistan in the ongoing year. Earlier, the first polio case of 2020 has been reported in Taunsa Sharif, Dera Ghazi Khan. The victim is aged eight months. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar expressed a grave concern over the polio case. He sought a report in from DG Khan commissioner and the Health secretary. The chief minister ordered the officers concerned to devise an effective strategy in this regard. On the other hand, the Balochistan Health Department has confirmed a polio case in Sibbi. Parents of seven-month kid had refused to administer the polio drops to the child. It is third polio case in the province this year.
