New postings, appointments in Pakistan Army announced

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – The Pakistan Army on Tuesday announced appointments of recently promoted lieutenant generals at various branches of the military. According to the ISPR, Lieutenant General Waseem Ashraf has been posted as Commander Southern Command, Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas as Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Khalid Zia as Inspector General Arms, Lieutenant General Muhammad Chiragh Haider as Director General Joint Staff Headquarters and Liteutenant General Bilal Akbar as Chairman Pakistan Ordinance Factories.
Army Chief installs AMC Colonel Commandant
Earlier in the day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Army Medical Centre, Abbottabad, Thursday in connection with installation ceremony of Colonel Commandant of Army Medical Corps. According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), the army chief installed Lieutenant General Khawar Rahman as Colonel Commandant of AMC. The outgoing Colonel Commandant, Lieutenant General Zahid Hamid, Retd, serving/retired officers and soldiers of the Army Medical Corps were present on the occasion. Interacting with the commanding officers and soldiers of the Army Medical Corps, COAS lauded the role of Army Medical Corps (AMC) in saving valuable lives in the war against terrorism. COAS appreciated contributions and service of doctors and paramedic staff in providing quality healthcare to the Pakistan Army as well as common citizens. Earlier on arrival, the army chief laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha.
Pak Army’s four major generals promoted to rank of Lt gen
Four major generals of Pak Army were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General. According to a press release issued by ISPR, those promoted officers include Major General Muhammad Aamer, Major General Muhammad Chiragh Haider, Major General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum and Major General Khalid Zia.
