New system of monsoon starts across country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A new system of monsoon has started across Pakistan as low areas of Lahore inundated due to the heavy spell of rain. According to the details garnered, the heavy rain lashed parts of Lahore including Mall Road, Jail Road, Gulberg, Iqbal Town, Moon Market and Shalamar. Heavy rains along with thunderstorm are also being recorded in Gujranwala, Bhakkar, Gujrat Jehlum and DI Khan among many other cities and several areas have been submerged in the rainwater. Murree, Galyat, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra and Mardan are also under the spell of torrential rain. Canals and nullahs are facing low level floods, while the reports of landsliding were also recieved from the affected araes. The water level of Nullah lai also above the normal situation, however, the villages near to Jhang Shahi also submerged into rainwater. Two foot water stood in the district nazim’s street at tehsil Pabbi in Noshehra. Meanwhile, Rawalkot, Kotli, Mirpur, Mangla and most of the areas of Azad Kashmir are also experiencing downpour. The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has forecasted for more rains in the upper region of Pakistan for the next two days. The PMD also said that the weather system which brought first monsoon rainfall of the season in Karachi and other parts of Sindh has weakened. The first monsoon rainfall created havoc in Karachi where locals faced long hours of power outages and urban flooding. Negligence of administrations has also been surfaced after first spell of monsoon in Karachi. Two children, who were electrocuted to death in Karachi’s North Nazimabad, has been laid to rest amid tears. A large number of people belonging to the area of Nazimabad attended the funeral prayers of two deceased children. The two children, identified as Ten-year-old Muhammad Ahmed and 12-year-old Abir were playing on their bikes in the rain when they accidentally touched an electric pole.
