DUNEDIN (Web Desk) New Zealand secured a commanding five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the second T20I of their five-match series at Dunedin's University Oval on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 136 runs, New Zealand reached 137/5 in just 13.1 overs, taking a 2-0 lead in the series.
Pakistan posted a modest 135/9 in their allotted 15 overs, with captain Salman Agha leading the way with 46 runs.
Despite some resistance from Agha and Shadab Khan (26), New Zealand’s bowlers, including Jacob Duffy and Ish Sodhi, kept Pakistan’s total in check.
The home side’s chase was dominated by explosive batting from openers Tim Seifert (45 off 22) and Finn Allen (38 off 16), who hit a combined 10 sixes. Although New Zealand lost a few wickets midway through the chase, they comfortably reached the target with 11 balls to spare, sealing another dominant performance.
The next match in the series will take place in Auckland on March 21, with Pakistan aiming to bounce back after two consecutive defeats.
