Newly-elected senators take oath; Senate chairman, deputy chairman to be elected today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The newly-elected senators took oath on Thursday. The senators will elect the Senate chairman and deputy chairman today. The families of the newly-elected senators also attended the oath-taking ceremony. Later, the session was adjourned till 3pm. A senator belonging to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) will get the slot of the deputy chairman as the opposition has reached a consensus and the government gave a go-ahead in this regard.
