Newsgate Report Case: IHC reserves verdict on Rao Tehseen’s petition

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Tuesday reserved the judgment on an application filed by former principal information officer (PIO) Rao Tehseen, seeking court directives to provide him a copy of the Newsgate report, under which he was suspended and made the officer on special duty (OSD). The Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Justice Amir Farooq resumed hearing of the case related to making the report of Newsgate scandal public on the petition of Rao Tehseen seeking court directives to provide him a copy of the Newsgate report. During the proceedings, Deputy Attorney General Raja Khalid Mahmood while completing his arguments said that the investigation report is affiliated with the country’s stability and sovereignty, adding that it could neither be made public nor provided to anyone. Raja Khalid Mahmood said that neither Rao Tehseen was suspended nor his salaries were stopped, adding that if he is not satisfied with the departmental inquiry, he can contact the concerned forum. The court later, reserved the verdict in the case.
