Nine labourers killed in Akhorwal coal mine explosion

KOHAT (92 News) – Nine labourers were killed on Wednesday in an explosion of a coal mine at the area Darra Adam Khel Adam Khel in Akhorwal. According to the reports, the explosion was triggered due to the filling of gas in the mine which resulted in the collapse of a part of the mine. It was reported that the labourers were trapped under the thousands feet of wreckage. The resue officials reached at the scene and started to rescue operation. Nine bodies have been recovered and while efforts are under way to rescue the remaining trapped inside the coal mine. The incident occurred at 8am. It also informed that all the laborers are residents of the Shangla.
