Nine more Pakistanis stranded in Egypt reach home

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Nine Pakistanis stranded onboard the Kuwaiti cargo ship near the port of Suez Egypt have returned home on Friday. The workers had been stuck on the ship anchored in the sea, away from the seashore, for more than six months. Talking to media after reaching Jinnah International Airport, Muhammad Jameel said that they succeeded in reaching Pakistan after a long struggle and the credit of their return goes to the media and the Pakistani Embassy. A Kuwaiti cargo ship carrying 17 Pakistanis had been in custody of Egyptian government since past six months. The ship, anchored in Egypt’s Suez Canal, was confiscated due to non-payment issues. The stranded crew members had faced dire conditions as the Egyptian government has confiscated the passports of the Pakistani crew members.
