Nishwa’s father reconciles with Darul Sehat Hospital management
KARACHI (92 News) – A reconcile agreement has been made between the management of Darul Sehat Hospital and father of minor girl, Nishwa, who died days after being administered wrong injection at the hospital.
Addressing a press conference, father of the victim said a three-point agreement has been made.
“I forgive all including hospital employees and owners, for the sake of Allah (SWT),” he said. He said according to the agreement the hospital administration would give Rs5 million annually to Nishwa Trust.
He also said that the two children would be given scholarship every year on recommendation of the Nishwa Trust.
“A hospital ward will be named after Nishwa and the Darul Sehat administration will admit their negligence before media,” he said.
On May 8, the Sindh High Court (SHC) had granted interim bail to Darul Sehat Hospital owners, Amir Chishti and Syed Ali Farhan, in the Nishwa death case.
Both the accused had approached the SHC after an additional district and sessions court dismissed their bail petition. A bench of the high court had granted them bail against a surety bond of Rs50,000 each for ten days.
On April 14, the nine-month-old girl had paralysed allegedly after being administered ‘wrong injection’ by ‘untrained nursing staff’ at Darul Sehat Hospital situated in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.
Nishwa’s death: Darul Sehat Hospital partially sealed
Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) sealed the Out Patient Department (OPD), Emergency and many other department of Darul Sehat over death of nine-month-old Nishwa.
On Wednesday late night, SHCC chairman Dr Tipu Sultan said that the ICU and CCU wards, however, are still open and the treatment for patients will continue.
Dr Sultan also said that according to the law, providing health facilities to the patients in the hospital is compulsory, adding that the hospital administration should provide healthcare facilities to the patients. He informed that more than 50 patients including women, men and children were still being treated in various wards of the hospital. It was reported that the SHCC directed the Darul Shehat admin to shift the under treatment patients to another hospital within 48 hours.
