ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal has said that no agreement can be signed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by putting the national autonomy at stake.

Addressing the National Assembly on Wednesday, he said that the government was making Pakistan a slave of the IMF. "The names of those selling their conscience will be written in the history. The Rs350 tax will make the poor and the middle class weep," he added.

He questioned that why the taxes of Rs350 billion being imposed on the people if country's agriculture, industry and economic indicators are increasing. "The mini-budget is a clear proof that the government's economic policy has failed," he maintained.

The PML-N leader said that the finance minister himself admits that the country does not have good relations with the United States and as a result, the country is facing problems from the IMF. "Our relations with China are not good. Kashmir has not been mentioned in the meeting of the foreign ministers," he declared.

He said that the only solution to avoid the IMF is that the MQM, the GDA and the PML-Q should not support the mini-budget.
