No change in policy towards Kashmir, says US State dept

WASHINGTON (92 News) - The United States has not changed its stance over Kashmir issue and is keeping a close watch on the latest happenings in the valley. We are in contact with both Pakistan and Indian on different matters and minutely observing situation in Jammu and Kashmir. "We appeal to all stake holders to remain calm to avoid further escalation," US State department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said in a statement. She said Afghan peace process is moving on positive note and that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan could play important role in Afghan peace talks. The spokeswoman said US has reservations over arrests in Kashmir.
