No compromise on blasphemy laws, says PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan has decided to address reservations of EU over GSP Plus status as Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan said that no compromise would be made on blasphemy laws.

The prime minister chaired an important meeting comprising senior ministers of the cabinet to review European Parliament resolution against Pakistan’s GSP plus status.

It is noteworthy here that the meeting was called in response to a resolution passed by the EU Parliament a few days ago, calling for a review of Pakistan's GSP Plus status.

The prime minister stressed the government would not compromise on the laws pertaining to the finality of the Prophethood.  The meeting decided to address reservations of the EU Parliament. The government also decided to bring legislation regarding journalists’ protection in the parliament.

According to sources, laws on enforced disappearances and protection of journalists will be enacted soon.
