No direction issued to NAB by PM for raid at Shehbaz’s house: Haque

ISLAMABAD (92 News) –The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Sunday raided at Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif’s residence according to law but Prime Minister Imran Khan never issued any directives to the corruption body, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haque said. Refuting the romours of any direction to NAB from PM Khan, talking to the journalists in Islamabad, Naeemul Haque has said that the government has neither influenced the anti-graft watchdog nor it will in the future. PM’s special assistant said raid at Hamza Shehbaz Sharif was conducted by the accountability bureau accordance with the law and the PML-N leader resisted the arrest for two days. “Nawaz and other persons who looted nation’s resources will have to face the music,” he maintained. To a question on the anti-government long march by JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman and former president Asif Ali Zardari, he mentioned that their ‘long march’ would be failed. Criticising Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Haque mad e it laugh over his English speeches, adding, ‘He [Bilawal] is a child’ and has nothing to do with people of Pakistan. Replying the query about the Punjab chief minister, Naeemul Haque said that the province is so big that everyone cannot be heard easily but Usman Buzdar is governing a big province which is not an easy job. He added that after the local body elections, the representatives will resolve the matters of people. The PM’s special assistant further said the prime minister is also paying special attention to uplift the sports in the country as developing the sector will help in creating a healthy environment.
LHC stops NAB from arresting Hamza Shehbaz till April 8
A day earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has stopped the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz till April 8.

LHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan heard the Hamza Shahbaz’s plea for pre-arrest bail. Amjad Pervez advocate and LHC President Hafizur Rahman Chaudhry appeared on behalf of Hamza Shahbaz.

Amjad Pervez advocate stated that Hamza Shehbaz will lose the right to appear for the pre-arrest bail if he is arrested. He said that the NAB officers were present outside the house of Hamza Shehbaz to arrest him. The pre-arrest plea will be heard on Monday.
