LAHORE (92 News) - PTI leader Asad Umar has said that no election date could be announced even after four days of the Lahore High Court (LHC) verdict.

Talking to the media at Zaman Park on Tuesday, he said that the Election Commission had categorically ordered to announce the date for the elections.

"Rulers are ready to violate the constitution to escape from the elections. A constitutional crisis has appeared in the country. Experts are of the view that the chief election commissioner can be arrested over a delay in the elections," he maintained.

Asad Umar said that the government and their sympathizers do not want to see Imran Khan in the elections. "Now the PDM people are fearful. Deviation from the constitution is tantamount to betrayal. We also demand that a date for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections should also be announced. We will start a 'Jail Bharo' movement if the government did not announce the date for the elections," he added.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary demanded that action should be taken against both governors under the constitution. "President Arif Alvi should start the procedure to remove the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governors," he added.
