No increase in rates of mobile phones, SMS & Internet, assures Shaukat Tarin

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has said that there is no increase in the rates of mobile phones, SMS and Internet.

Addressing the post-budget press conference on Saturday, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and the federal cabinet had not approved the increase in the rates of mobile phones, SMS and Internet.

The minister said that they could not be self-sufficient in food until an increase in agriculture. "Reforms will be introduced in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)," he added.

He said that only Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) had been increased and benefits had been given to the industry and agriculture. "We have to take the sustainable growth rate to 20 percent in 8-10 years. It is vital to increase production for stable and sustainable growth," he maintained.

Shaukat Tarin said that it was also mandatory to control the proportion of imports and exports.

He said that the government would give the loan up to Rs two million for the roof. "We have experience of recovering 99 percent amount from small debtors. We will distribute Sehat cards across the country for providing healthcare facilities," he added.

The minister said that one members of a family will be given interest-free loan up to Rs 500,000.
