KARACHI (92 News) – Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar has said that no mayor can deliver with these powers. Talking to the media on Monday, he appealed to the chief justice to hear his application with regard to the Article 140A. He said that the Sindh government cannot be absolved of its responsibility on the excuse of the authority. "No department is performing its duty. The indignation expressed by the Supreme Court is justified," he said. Waseem Akhtar said that he does not think that the local bodies elections would be held on time. "The performance of the provincial government is zero. The Sindh government has admitted that 70 percent of the land of the province is not under its control," he said. He questioned that where 70 percent of Karachi's revenue is spent. "The provincial government has ruined Karachi," he claimed. He said that the powers of water, garbage, transport and master plan are not with him. "I am raising the voice of Karachi. Now the entire country has come to clean the drains," he said.
