No NRO will be given to corrupt people: PM

LAHORE (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan assured on Sunday that no National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) will be given to the corrupt people. Addressing to the press conference, the prime minister said that his government would introduce a law similar to the whistleblower act aimed at providing protection to whistleblowers in corruption cases. “We will give full protection to anyone who exposes corruption and 20 per cent from legal means will be given to them out of any recovered account,” he said. The prime minister clarified the reason of press conference, saying that, “I decided to hold this press conference after watching Shehbaz Sharif's attempt of becoming Nelson Mandela.” Criticizing the opposition parties, PM Khan said that the corruption union had made in Pakistan. He also said that the opposition political parties are doing dramas in cover of saving democracy. “If you want to protest, we will give you container. You can shout as much as you want in the assembly. But the corrupt people should get it that I won't spare anyone,” he said. “The government will give all required help to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). People should know that there will be no NRO. We will take stern action against corruption,” he added. Imran Khan said that as many as 50 people would be behind bars if the the NAB had been under his authority. “I have been saying from last 22 years that the biggest problem of this country is corruption,” he said. He assured that the looted wealth will be brought back which was stashed abroad that would only way to stabilise economy without taking foreign loans. He said that further Rs1200 billion increases in circular debt will be observed if the prices of electricity are not raised,” he said. – USMAN BUZDAR NAME OF CHANGE – PM Khan has said that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is the name of change. He termed that Buzdar represents politics of change and vowed that his nominee will never be involved in the corruption. He also said that Buzdar will remain the chief minister till the end of the tenure of his government. Praising the Punjab chief minister, Imran Khan expressed the hope that Buzdar would emerge as the most successful chief minister. He asked public to give time to Usman Buzdar. “Buzdar is an honest man who won’t ever indulge in corruption. He knows how people live in the backward areas of Punjab, how children are dying. He is empathetic to the deprived common man,” he added.
