No possibility of talks with Pakistan before elections in India: Ajay Bisaria

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria said on Tuesday that talks with Pakistan would not be held before elections in India. During the informal talks with journalists in Islamabad, Ajay Bisaria has said that the tension between the two neighbouring countries has subsided, but threat of a terror attack still looms on both the sides. He remarked that a ‘threat’ of impending war between India and Pakistan was no more in place as contacts between the two countries at political, diplomatic and military level had restored. Ajay Bisaria said implementation on the national action plan (NAP) by Pakistan was a positive indicator. He also said talks with Pakistan could be held after elections in India.

Earlier on March 21, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan should stay alert until general elections in India concluded. Imran Khan – during a meeting with editors and owners of media houses - said that Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Narendra Modi’s popularity was rapidly falling in India and in this situation, he could make another misadventure to get political mileage ahead of polls. In the wake of previous experience, PM Khan said that Pakistan should stay alert until general elections in India concluded.
