No resistance made to Captain (r) Safdar’s arrest: Saad Rafique
October 9, 2017
LAHORE (92 News) – Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has on Monday said that no resistance was made to Captain (r) Safdar’s arrest, even though the party had “serious reservations” about the judicial process. In his twitter message, the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said that Capt Safdar is a “true soldier of democracy” and “Sadiq and Ameen”, adding that people who had called for his arrest must rethink their actions. The minister said that the arrest of the member National Assembly is a shameful example of revenge in the name of justice and accountability. Saad Rafique went on to say that “mafias and relatives of terrorists” neither get arrested nor appear before the courts. “We fought for freedom and dignity of judiciary yet we are being targeted with injustice,” he added. He said: “Conspiracies and insult of country's leader are unfortunate and bad tradition.” Reacting to the tweets of the federal minister, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon said that: “Khwaja sb, remember I had bail, NAB arrested me from runway with the help of your Government? Today you stopped them to enter in the airport?”
