No single party can eliminate NAB, says Khaqan Abbasi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) member Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday has said that no single party can eliminate the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), so consensus must be reached for this purpose.

Speaking to the journalists, the former premier said that again accused NAB of political engineering. He said the PDM movement has been continued and the long march will provide relief to the people.

"The NAB has paralyzed the system of governance and have nothing positive in its work," Khaqan Abbasi minister said.

On the other hand, an accountability court adjourned hearing of a reference pertaining to illegal recruitment in Pakistan State Oil (PSO) against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other accused.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) informed the court that the witness could not appear in the hearing as he has contracted coronavirus.

The court ordered the witness and accused to ensure their presence in the next hearing of the case and adjourned the hearing until January 14.

PPP Yousuf Raza Gilani said that due to the fear of opposition's movement, the government wants to hold Senate elections early.
