No threat of terrorism as today's PDM Quetta rally will be historic: Fazl

QUETTA (92 News) - Pakistan Democratic Movement head and Jamiat Ulema-e Islam-F chaief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that there is no threat of terrorism and today's rally in Quetta will be a historic.

Talking to the journalists, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that if there is any threat to the public rally in Quetta, it is the responsibility of the government to provide security. "The rally will be held in any case, if the government cannot provide security, then it should go home," he added.

Meanwhile, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed had expressed fears of a major tragedy at the Quetta rally.

On the other hand, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NCTA) has issued a threat alert for a terrorist attack in Quetta, warning that the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has planned terrorist attacks in Peshawar and Quetta.

NCTA said that terrorists have planned to target political and religious leaders with suicide bombings.
