He said that he was disqualified for not getting the salary from his son.

Remembering the death of his mother and wife, Nawaz Sharif said that one cannot some grief despite willing to forget it. " My mother and wife used to welcome me whenever I returned from abroad. Maryam fell unconscious on hearing about the death of her mother. I could not lay my mother and father in the graves. Some wounds never heal. However, love for Pakistan is in my heart," he added.

The former premier said that US former president Bill Clinton had offered him $5 in exchange for not conducting the nuclear blasts, but he rejected his offer and made the country a nuclear power. "The price of a 'roti' has increased from Rs2 to Rs20. I was ousted for the same purpose. Where have reached the prices of petrol, dollar, sugar and other items? We will revive the economy and end price-hike," he resolved.

Earlier on Saturday, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif reached Islamabad by a special flight. Senator Ishaq Dar and PML-N leaders welcomed him. Talking to the media before departure at Dubai airport, Nawaz Sharif said that he had left everything to Allah Almighty and today he was going to Pakistan successfully.

"It would have been better if the conditions of Pakistan had been better than as compared to 2017. It is a matter of sorrow that Pakistan has gone backwards instead of moving ahead. We can put the country back on its feet as we know how to do it," he declared.

In response to a question, Nawaz Sharif said that they were not the people of May 9, but the people of May 28. "The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has to decide the elections in the country and the date given by it will be our priority," he added.
