QUETTA (92 News) – An additional sessions court on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Senator Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti in a case relating to kidnapping of a minor girl. The court expressed anger over non-appearance of the senator and directed Quetta police to arrest the accused and present him in court. The arrest warrants came a day after the Supreme Court rejected Bugti’s plea for interim bail. A day earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan rejected the bail plea submitted by Senator Sarfaraz Bugti in kidnapping case of a 9-years-old girl. A two-member bench of the top court comprising Justice Mohammad Ameen Ahmed and Justice Mazhar Alam Mian Khel heard the case at the Supreme Court’s registry in Quetta. During the hearing, petitioner Senator Bugti, along with his lawyer, Kamran Murtaza, appeared before court. A woman applicant, who had filed the plea in the kidnapping case, also appeared before the court. During the hearing, the court asked Bugti’s lawyer to make efforts to ensure the girl’s safe return. “Kamran Sahab, make an effort that the girl comes back, (So) the issue can be resolved,” remarked the judge. Subsequently, the court turned down the Senator’s plea for bail and adjourned the hearing of pre-arrest bail until July 14.
