ISLAMABAD (92 News) - An Islamabad court Monday extended the physical remand of Zahir Jaffer, the main suspect in the brutal murder of Noor Mukadam case, by two days.

According to details, Zahir Jaffer was presented before the court after completion of his two-day physical remand.

The Islamabad police asked the court to extend his remand by another two days, saying that they had recovered the pistol from the possession of the suspect but still they had to recover a mobile phone from his possession.

The duty magistrate hearing the proceedings extended the remand by another two days and directed the police to present him before court on July 28.

Earlier today, the Police had included four more clauses of hiding evidence and being complicit in the Noor Mukadam murder case.

The Islamabad Police arrested Zahir Zakir’s father Zakir Jaffer and mother Asmat Adamjee late on Saturday night.

According to the reports, Zahir Zakir’s father Zakir Jaffer and mother Asmat Adamjee were taken into custody by the police. The police also arrested Zahir Zakir’s domestic helpers Iftikhar and Jamil for investigation.

The Islamabad police spokesman stated that the suspects were arrested on charges of concealing evidence and aiding and abetting the crime. The detailed statement of the victim's father Shaukat Muqaddam is also recorded.

The arrests of Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee were after a detailed statement by Noor Muqaddam’s father, Shaukat Muqaddam.

The police did not rule out more arrests linked to Noor’s murder. They said the police are trying to piece together all the direct or indirect evidence linked to this murder.

Meanwhile, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner reported has ordered to seal the Therapy Works Rehabilitation Centre where the murderer spent some time.

On July 23, the Islamabad police which have declared the suspect who brutally murdered ex-diplomat’s daughter Noor Muqaddam ‘in possession of sound mental health while committing the grisly act’ would request the interior ministry to put the suspect’s name on the Exit Control List.

On July 22, the police made progress in the murder case of the daughter of former diplomat and traced the criminal record of the accused Zahir Jaffer in the United Kingdom.

Talking to the media, the Islamabad SSP Investigations said that they had arrested the accused soon after getting the information about the incident.

He said that the accused was not under the influence at the time of the arrest. "There is no proof of the accused being a psycho. We are waiting for the DNA report of the accused and the victim," he said.

Meanwhile, the police have recorded the statement of the killer's father and his two guards.
