Noor Mukadam murder: Owner, staffers of psychiatric rehab center arrested

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Islamabad police have arrested six people including owner and staffers at a psychiatric rehabilitation center for their alleged role in facilitating Zahir Jaffar, the main suspect in the murder of Noor Mukadam.

According to the details, the owner of the psychiatric rehab center Dr Tahir and five other employees have been arrested.

“They allegedly concealed evidence in Noor Mukadam murder with the support of Tahir Jaffer’s parents,” the police said adding that they would be presented before the court for a physical remand.

Earlier, additional Sessions Judge Sheikh Muhammad Sohail on Thursday rejected the bail pleas of the parents of Zahir Jaffar, the main accused, in the Noor Mukadam murder case.

On Wednesday, the court had reserved the judgement on the pleas after completion of the arguments. Zahir Jaffar's parents are in Adiala Jail.

In the written five-page judgement, the court observed that the accused had informed the rehabilitation centre instead of the police. "The accused not only tried to removed evidence but also abetted the crime," it observed.

The court said that there is sufficient evidence to link the crime to the accused.
