I could not sleep at night after looking at pictures of Mental Hospital: CJP

LAHORE (92 News) – Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has said that he could not sleep at night after seeing the picture of Institute of Mental Health. Talking to the media after visiting Mental Hospital on Saturday, he said that the people being treated in hospital are humans like them. “I have asked my friends to formulate law reforms as he alone could do nothing,” he said. Earlier, the chief justice visited various wards of Mental Hospital and asked Health Department personnel questions about complaints of negligence. The chief justice also visited the hospital’s kitchen and asked for improving hygiene. An attendant of a patient at the hospital told Justice Nisar that the hospital was cleaner on account of his visit than it usually was. A woman complained of a shortage of medicines at the facility. The chief justice sought an explanation regarding this from Health Minister Salman Rafiq. The chief justice also visited the hospital pharmacy and asked the in-charge for a report.
