NSC meeting chaired by PM Imran Khan underway

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) is underway with Prime Minister Imran khan in the chair. According to the sources, the priem minister is currently chairing the NSC meeting which is being attended by General Bajwa, services chiefs, heads of intelligence agencies, security officials and federal and state ministers for finance, defence, foreign affairs and interior. During the meeting, the Pulwama attack, India's histrionics and situation arising from it will be discussed, sources said. The council will also deliberate over Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav's case which is currently being heard in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), sources added. “Foreign Office officials will brief the participants regarding the case,” the sources also said. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman's recent visit and the Afghan peace process will also come under discussion, according to sources.
PM meets COAS Gen Bajwa
On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa before the NSC meeting. During the meeting, the country and region's security situation were discussed. Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had declared that there would be no comprise on the sovereignty of the country. Chairing a meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party at the Parliament House, the prime minister had said, “The message [Pakistan] had to give to India has already been given. We have given India a clear message on Pulwama attack.” Advising against the escalation of tensions between the two neighbouring countries, he said Pakistan will act like a responsible state. “There will be no compromise on the country’s sovereignty,” he avowed. Briefing the participants of the meeting about the recent visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman (MBS), PM Khan said the Saudi royal’s visit remained highly successful.
