NTDC constitutes committee for inquiry into major power breakdown

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) on Sunday has constituted a committee for inquiry into major power breakdown.

It is pertinent to mention here that the all country plunged into darkness on Saturday night, however, partially power restored and complete restoration of the energy will take some more hours.

According to details, NTDC told that the frequency level had dropped to zero from 50 in less than a second due to tripping in high transmission system following a technical fault at Guddo Thermal Power Plant at 11:41pm.

This glitch caused shutdown of other power plants plunging parts of the country into darkness, the company representative added. NTDC further told that initial report over the blackout has been prepared.
